A Kentucky food pantry serving Oldham and surrounding counties since 2012.

We have pantry members who visit us weekly from a large geographic area, including Oldham and Jefferson counties, as well as Henry, Trimble, and Shelby counties. No one is turned away if they are in need of food!

What makes our pantry unique is our partnership with local farmers. During the growing season we have a wide variety of fresh, locally grown produce. We are proud to bring fresh food to our members.

Through our partners, we are able to help reduce food waste. We receive hundreds of pounds of fresh foods every month that would otherwise be thrown away. This partnership allows us to offer foods such as prepared sandwiches and salads, frozen meats, dairy products, baked goods and so much more. We are more than canned goods.
Our mission is to serve anyone who comes to us hungry. No questions asked. No documents required. We only require basic contact information plus the ages of those being served. This is for reporting to Dare to Care.
We are a shopping model. This allows our members to choose their own groceries rather than receiving a pre-packed box. We believe this preserves dignity and choice, plus reduces food waste. Our volunteers are specially trained for welcome and hospitality, because we know that asking for help and for food may not be easy. Our goal is to be as gracious and welcoming as possible.
Our pantry members often comment on how much food they receive when they come for a visit. We offer a wide variety and abundance of food. We are able to offer this because of our many volunteers who regularly pickup at our retail partners.

“Bread of Life Food Pantry is a true blessing to our community. I volunteer there every so often, and I am always impressed by the warmth, compassion, and dedication of the team. Each time, I am able to take food from the pantry to a church that feeds their community, and I see firsthand the impact this ministry has on people’s lives. The volunteers treat everyone with dignity and kindness, and their service goes far beyond simply handing out food as they offer hope and encouragement to those who need it most. Our community is stronger and better because Bread of Life is here, faithfully serving those in need.”
